RUTH FISCHBACH
Ruth Fischbach is an impressionistic oil and watercolor painter who is drawn to the beauty and abundance of Central California's landscapes and seascapes. Her work reflects the natural allure of the California coast with its vivid contrasts and rich, textured colors. Ruth's love of art was first sparked when she was about seven years old and her father gave her a set of colored
pencils. Throughout her career, she has explored many mediums: charcoal, pastels, acrylics, oils and her first form is just plain pencil.
Upon completion of high school, Ruth attended Arizona State University majoring in art and business education. She continues to refine and expand her talent through classes and workshops
taught by some of the central coast's finest artists. Her love of watercolor was influenced by the work of Roseann Sietz, with whom she as studied. She has also been inspired by and studied
under Libby Tolley, Dotty Hawthorne, and Mary Carole.
Ruth's work has earned her acclaim as an up-and coming artist in San Luis Obispo's thriving art community. She has been the Featured Artist of the Morro Bay Art Association; exhibited her work at the Dairy Creek Golf Club and was accepted into the Central Coast Fine Arts National Juried Competition.
Her memberships include the San Luis Obispo Art Center, San Luis Obispo Arts Council, Morro Bay Art Assoc. and the American Impressionist Society. Ruth and her husband R, have lived in San Luis Obispo since 1970 where they have raised their family. For more information, contact Ruth at ruthfischbach@yahoo.com.
